Notes
Abstract:
Description: This panel of professors from different disciplines will explore instructional practice in planning classroom discussion to address content that includes themes and language related to race and identity, or racial and identity slurs. With a focus on honest and brave dialogue, panelists will share methodology to shape intentional classroom discourse. We will consider the role of marginalized students in these sensitive conversations, the value of real-world context, and how students can make professors aware of their own experience in the classroom.
