Organized by Lucy Norton and a group of interested new student voters in 1926 - the 19th Amendment extending voting privileges to women having been passed in 1920 - this campus organization was a division of the State League of Women Voters. The purpose of the organization was "to prepare the girls of today to become the intelligent voting women of tomorrow by creating an interest in the political affairs of our country and a knowledge of the vital issues of the day".
