Summary:
Virginia L. Radley was appointed to the presidency of State University of New York College at Oswego in 1978. The appointment distinguished her as the first woman president of a State-operated campus in the SUNY system. ( eng )
Summary:
A graduate of Russell Sage College, Dr. Radley received her M.A. from the University of Rochester, and the M.S. and Ph.D. from Syracuse University. Her professional career has included teaching positions at Chatham Hall, in Chatham, Virginia, and at Goucher College, where she also was Assistant Dean of Students. She held administrtive positions at Russell Sage and Nazareth College before joining the State University Central Administration in 1973 as Provost for Under-graduate Education. The author of numerous scholarly essays as well as articles on management in higher education, Dr. Radley has written two books, both literary biographies: "Elizabeth Barrett Browning" (1972), and "Samuel Taylor Coleridge" (1966).
